Alameda returns from 2014 U.S Nationals with 3 Medals and over 3000 points!

Alameda TTC went with 9 juniors to the 2014 U.S. Nationals held in Las Vegas from December 16 - 20.

Our 9 kids picked up 3 medals and 3211 points for an average gain of 357 points!

Jordan Yee advanced to the round of 16 in the Men’s 21 and under. In the highly competitive Junior Team Trials Jordan advanced to the final 12 round robin, where he had wins over several of last years team members, and one of the Men's open finalists to finish #7 in the U.S.!

Kai took home first place in U1400, 2nd in U1500, and 2nd in U3200 Doubles!

Tina Chen paired with Kai to earn second in the U3200 doubles event. She also advanced to the Quarter Finals in U1400, Round of 16 in U1500 and the round of 32 in U1800 and U1600.

Edmond Tu advanced in U2100 and Men’s U21.

Norman Tu really stepped it up in the U2300 taking games off of 2265 rated Scott Butler and 2019 Nemera Weyessa,  before overcoming a very tricky, pip wielding, paddle flipping, 2056 Wai Wong. Norman also advanced to the round of 32 in U1900 and U1600.

Aziz was the big point winner picking up 924 points and upsetting several players rated approximately 1000 points higher.

Michelle was another big point winner picking up 712 points with upset wins in U1200 and U1300.

Avery  picked up 556 points and advanced to the round of 16 in U1300.
